My friend Mark showed up from Oly, we did a great ride on Saturday, about 80 miles, up to Pt Reyes, over Lucas Valley and around through Fairfax, up over the dam and 7 bitches…superb day. Sunday saw us driving to Half Moon Bay and cycling up Tunitas Creek and back, 50 mile loop. see link below for more information on a similar route.

Invited a few to come out and pedal for the TOC ’09.  Just a few showed up-that meant more Lagunita’s for Sally and I. It rained, it poured-but we got a few good rides in.  To view a few photos of one of our rides-along Hwy 1 through Stinson & up Bolinas-Fairfax road to the 7-bitches.  mmm good.  to view, go to Sally’s blog-Raleigh Commutes.  Sally-he devours bacon, I prefer tofu.  Raleigh Commutes Blog

“To be a cyclist is to be a student of pain….at cycling’s core lies pain, hard and bitter as the pit inside a juicy peach. It doesn’t matter if you’re sprinting for an Olympic medal, a town sign, a trailhead, or the rest stop with the homemade brownies. If you never confront pain, you’re missing the essence of the sport. Without pain, there’s no adversity. Without adversity, no challenge. Without challenge, no improvement. No improvement, no sense of accomplishment and no deep-down joy. Might as well be playing Tiddly-Winks.”  It never gets easier, you just go fasterScott Martin
